Hello, Fencing Enthusiasts!
We’re down to just one month before the highly anticipated First Copa de Andalucía! This is not just another competition; it’s a chance to showcase your skills, represent our club, and bring glory to San Pedro Alcántara.
The event is set to take place in the beautiful city of Almería on Nov 12 (full 2023-2024 calendar), and we couldn’t be more excited!
Why You Should Participate
- Skill Enhancement: Competing with fencers from various parts of Andalucía will give you a unique opportunity to test your skills and learn from others.
- Networking: This is a great chance to meet and network with other fencers, coaches, and enthusiasts in the region.
- Team Spirit: Nothing brings a team together like competing side by side. Let’s show them what San Pedro Alcántara is made of!
- Personal Growth: Competitions are a great way to push your boundaries and step out of your comfort zone.
Preparing for the Copa
Physical Preparation
- Training: Intensify your training sessions. Focus on your weak points and work on your strengths. We train every week, on Tuesday and Friday at 19.00, and on Saturdays at 11.00 in this beautiful location.
- Nutrition: We believe in individual choices when it comes to nutrition. Listen to your body and eat what feels right for you to fuel your best performance
- Rest: Your body needs to recover. Make sure you’re getting enough sleep and rest days.
Mental Preparation
- Visualisation: Imagine performing your best moves, winning points, and standing on the podium.
- Mindfulness: Stay present and focused. Consider adding some meditation to your routine.
Gear Check
- Make sure your equipment is in top condition. This is not the time for malfunctioning gear or uncomfortable attire.
Getting a license
- To participate in the Copa, you must be federated. Learn how to get your Federación Andaluza de Esgrima license on our blog post.

- After you get the license, please email Federación Andaluza de Esgrima at esgrimafae@gmail.com to secure your spot in the Copa.
Logistics
